 PEHRG is  an interdisciplinary research group.

Research activities conducted in the field of Health Economics and Public Health at the University of Perugia were combined:

a. Research activities conducted at the DEC (Department of Economics) on the measurement of horizontal equity  indexes in  access to health care services in Italy sponsored by  Regional Health Service Assessment Document (DVSS Documento di Valutazione del Sistema Sanitario Regionale) drafted by the Umbria Regional Council for the years 2004-2007. In addition to this, research was conducted on behalf of the London School of Economics (LSE-Health) on inequalities in health and living conditions of Italian citizens in the framework of the “Health and Living Conditions in the EU” project funded by the European Commission and co-ordinated at European level by the LSE-HEALTH.

b. Research conducted at Experimental Centre for Health Education, as projects funded by the European Union: “Health inequalities and social inclusion”- an analysis of the national implementation plans for social inclusion and a collection of models of good practices aimed to  reduce inequalities - and: “Closing the Gap - Strategies for action to tackle Health Inequalities in Europe” – an analysis of national policies for tackling health inequalities.
